IndieReCon: I am. Are you?

Where should I have been today?

The London Book Fair.

Sadly, my research trip to Marrakech, 2015-04-07 11.21.48 2015-04-07 11.33.48 2015-04-07 11.36.17 2015-04-07 11.37.02

filling in detail for some of the settings in Violation, the first in The Definition of  Iniquity trilogy, brought back a little more than photos and information in the form of a nasty little tummy bug called campylobacter.

However, day 3 of antibiotics and I’m up to writing again – not of the strain of one of the highlights of the publishing industry’s year. I’m leaving the hard work to my agents, A for Authors, and turning my attention instead to something of enormous benefit to all indie authors – and running concurrently with the London Book Fair: IndieReCon.

What is IndieReCon?

ALLi (Alliance of Independent Authors – of which I’m a member) explains:

“IndieReCon is still an online conference offering the best advice and education for independent-minded authors across the world – but now offering expanded programing and global reach, through ALLi’s netwroks. And exciting live events, from Utah to London. Including this year, hooking up with the London Book Fair, to provide an exciting day of live-streamed events, live from London.”

Even better than this – it’s entirely FREE, and with some of the heaviest hitters in the indie publishing world joining in. It starts tomorrow, and with names like Joanna Penn, S R Johannes, Mark Coker (Smashwords), Bella Andre, Rebecca Swift, Jane Friedman, Orna Ross, Joel Friedlander,  its most definitely the place to be for the next few days. The event schedule is here .

And if you’d like to add your book to the giant giveaway to libraries, you have until the 17th April to join in here.

Here’s to Indies the world over!

Now back to Marrakech and some Violation – the manuscript kind, not food poisoning …
